Cultivating Cozy in the Depths of Winter
As we enter into the depths of winter–I’m trying to make our home as cozy and inviting as I can.
It’s been raining here in SF lately–which I love–but it definitely makes days darker and colder than usual. As a native Californian, I’ve never really “weathered” a true winter–but I definitely have the SF gloom down! Especially after Christmas, when the tree comes down and all the fun lights and twinkle stars are gone–its super important to me to keep those warm vibes going in new ways. I’ll always save a few nicer candles to light during this time. I’ll burn them during the dark afternoons and evenings to add a bit of warmth and glow to our home.
I recently received these slippers and they’re life changing. I love how simple and darn warm they are. Slippers are definitely a must during this time of year! They’re a bit expensive for sure, but are really worth the $$$.
I also am adding more crystal to our home–I find that it reflects light so beautifully! I love adding in crystal candle holders, or even vintage ashtrays as candle stands for a touch of elegance and charm.
To our sofa I added this new pillow–it feels like literal heaven and is so comfortable to lay against while watching endless hours of reality tv (my crutch at this time of year).
I’m also looking at this throw blanket for the foot of our bed!
Taking a semi-weekly trip to the local flower shop for new blooms is also a must! I love refreshing little corners of our home with fresh greenery. It just sparks new life after the holidays–and in the everyday. My go-to’s recently are olive branches–I cannot get enough of them! They immediately transfer me to the Greek countryside–and right now there is no other place I’d rather be!
I recently also received these amazing twist candles–I love love love them. They’re so special and unique! I love that they’re almost like a piece of art unlit.
If you’re looking to cultivate a little more warmth and glow in your home during this time just remember–even the smallest little touch can make all the difference! Happy winter!
