September Moodboard

Basking in it.

Indian Summer is upon us! This city never feels so warm, happy and brimming with summer energy as it does in September. I am really trying to soak up the remaining weeks we have of this beautiful weather. It’s really crazy how much weather can impact our moods. I tend to notice that I feel drained, unmotivated and rather down during the summers here in the city. They tend to be dark, cold and rather brisk compared to the rest of the country. However as soon as the late summer months hit, San Francisco seems to go through a bit of a sunshine revival. We probably get about 70% of our sunshine during this time of the year, and I’m not mad about it!

On the docket

We have family coming to visit a bit later this month which is always super exciting. We’re planning a few things here in the city, and then of course a trip up to wine country.

September means… Oktoberfest! Sadly, we’re not going to the real deal this year but we of course will head over to our local fest for some daytime celebration.

I bought Jackson tickets to see Zac Brown Band for his birthday this year and the concert is in a couple weeks! They’re SO good in person - and I love a good country concert…gets me back to my roots!

Excited About

We recently purchased a few new key pieces of furniture for our apartment. I have been dreaming about updating some of our Ikea pieces with real furniture for a while now and it’s finally happening! I plan on doing a post about our updates soon with links! The other weekend we put up these sconces above our nightstands and I am seriously in love with them. Our bedroom has been a space in our apartment that I’ve paid the least amount of attention to…. so it really needs some love.

Looking At

I recently did a bit of online shopping at Mango and they’re really killing the game this season (again). I am loving some of their fun dresses and statement pieces.

Personally

This summer I have really been pretty lax about my lifestyle and personal wellness routine. I’ve said yes to dessert and a second glass of wine (because life is too short) and have been truly soaking it all up. However that said, I’d really like to get a bit more balance back into my routine. I’ve been taking small steps of progress which I’m actually very proud of. These steps, be they small, are actually very impactful in shaping a realistic, healthy lifestyle. I’m working on a post about this that I’m going to share out soon - so stay tuned!

Have a lovely month!
