Fall Wardrobe .01

Fall Wardrobe Essentials

Fall in San Francisco is unique. I love this time of year, it’s cozy, dim and inviting. My wardrobe always goes through a metamorphosis during this time of year - and I’m all for it.

Ahh, tis the season of hiding my dessert loving habit under piles of cashmere and wool. Fall is a favorite for so many different reasons, many of which center around food and clothes - however it’s also a great season for change. Fall sparks newness - it brings in gusts of fresh air that are ripe with ideas and unexpected possibility. There is something so so so incredibly satisfying about walking down the street with a steeping hot coffee in hand, ready to greet the day in a new sweater on a crisp fall morning.

Fall in SF comes a bit later than the rest of the world, as we’re stills savoring warm weather well into the depths of October. However once the chill sets in the air, it’s here to stay for a good few months so it’s safe to say that a good refresh of fall essentials is in order. First on my list is this sweater, which I’ve been eyeing for a couple of weeks now and is currently sitting in my cart.

01. all wrapped up

these sweaters are everything - and they’ll easily be a wardrobe staple all year-around.

Living in SF, purchase these all year. It’s cold all the time and you always need a cozy layer to grab, so it’s a no brainer that I’m socking up this season while there are so many good options!

02. sharp edges

i have been on the hunt for a few good blazers to rotate into my weekly routine. i always look for sharp edges and flattering lines.

Earlier this year I took the plunge and bought my first-ever adult blazer - it was quite a feat, because I have been scarred by blazers in the past. But I’m loving their current revival - oversized, and often in striking patterns that hint at a more modern and fun design.

03. bundled in pattern

fall is all about layers.

I’m loving this shirt-jacket trend. I just bought this one and I can’t wait for it to come. I love the subtle (almost neutral) pop of color. Earlier this fall I purchased this one as well and its perfect! I live in it when it’s cold outside - it’s also a perfect travel jacket because it fits oversize.

04. all in the details

Every season needs a little refresh in the small details.

Jewelry, candles, shoes - even decor, I love refreshing these for fall. After the length of summer - it’s time to rethink these details and bring in fresh pieces. I have been burning this candle for the last month and I love it!
