March Moodboard
March you’re a tease. It's almost springtime, but the weather isn’t quite there yet. I get that early spring itch that sends me drooling over fresh blooms, crisp linens and pale hues yet it still feels like the dead of winter and the sun still sets just after 5pm. However knowing that early spring is right around the corner brings me immense joy. The aroma of fresh magnolia blooms wafts through our apartment from the trees on the street. For some reason, it's incredibly strong in the early mornings - I love being one of the first few awake walking home from an early workout and getting to (quite literally) stop and smell the magnolia.
This March I’m focusing on a personal rebrand. And whoa, is “rebrand” a loaded term. There are a few things I’m working on within this feat. As part of my creative process -- I’ve been gathering different typefaces that strike me. I’ve been finding that I’m incredibly drawn to san serifs that are both bold, and minimally designed. I received my BA in Design - working primarily in graphic design. But what I’ve since realized, is that being in the professional world has allowed me to define my focuses and really determine my creative voice. In addition to design, I’m an interior and food stylist who believes in wellness as a base for all of my work. Right now I’m trying to think of ways to weave these together in a personal brand that reads as cohesive and impactful.
From a personal point - I’m rebranding the way in which I go about and think about self-care. This month I’d like to be more considerate of my limits, like setting a workout routine that’s doable and proactive rather than redundant. Saying no to more social invitations that I say yes. And honoring small, intimate moments that can often go overlooked - like the way the sunlight beams into the kitchen in the early morning, or lighting candles everywhere in the apartment just because it’s a Tuesday. Savoring the small victories often brings me the most joy, allowing me to reflect and be thankful for moments as they come. I’m looking forward to March, and am full of hope that it will be a month full of nourishment both creative and loving.
