Notes On Vintage Glassware Hunting

vintage-glassware.jpg

Over the years, I’ve fallen in love with adding vintage glassware (vases in particular) to our home.

Vintage glassware adds such character and charm to a space. It also simply glimmers in nearly any light (especially when the sun hits it) and is incredibly stunning.

I’ve learned a few tips and tricks when hunting for the right pieces over the years, and thought I’d share!

First, I love scouring Etsy. They will usually have the best array of glassware and amazing prices (that often ship free!)

I use keywords like “vintage”, “vintage crystal”, “cut crystal”, or “vintage glass vase”, “italian crystal” - and will have luck.

I try to opt for a variety of shapes and sizes to ensure that my collection is varied and can fit different arrangements of florals or greenery.

A few of my frequent searches on Etsy:
crystal vases
vintage ashtrays
vintage crystal biscuit jars
vintage ice buckets
mini glass dishes

I also love Elsie Green for their vintage finds in this department as well. Often I’ll find great overlooked crystal / glass pieces at flea markets or even garage sales / estate sales. So many generations before us had lush collections of crystal that are no longer getting the love they used to, its crazy!

Happy hunting!
