Side Table Love

side-table-love.jpg

Early on in life, I developed a deep love for bone-inlay pieces. My grandmother so kindly gave me this little vintage table, and I’m so honored to have it in our home. There is something so artful and lovely about this piece–its texture and materials specifically.

I absolutely cherish passed-down pieces. They’re such an homage to family and specific moments in time for me. I remember as a child, playing near these little tables and marveling at their patterns. As I’ve crafted our home now, it makes me so happy to see them included in the space.

I love remixing old / new - or in this case old / older. I found this little senufo stool on Etsy–and although these are unlikely pairings, I actually really love them together. When it comes to table / stool nesting, I love combining slightly airier side tables with heavier and denser stools to help create depth and visual interest. On its own, this little side table needed a bit more weight to hold its own–and I thought the stool would be a perfect solution.

How lovely are unlikely duos?
