Acquired Objects

The objects that we surround ourselves with are so important. As a stylist, I find that the identity of a space lives deep within the details. These details, although small, can set a mood that defines not only style but personality.

Over the year I’ve stumbled upon (and hunted after) pieces to help bring more charm into different areas in our space. One part of our home that I wanted to give special attention to was our kitchen. I find that adorning rooms in your home with beloved objects really does make your experience within those rooms so much more enjoyable. Because I cook so often, I wanted to bring special decorative pieces into the styling of the countertops. I love when I’m prepping a recipe and can look up to feel joy when I reach for the salt in my favorite marble bowl. Or perhaps in our living room, when I reach for a match to light a candle–the match strike holds a special, beautiful meaning and has a story. I swapped in this beautiful tray to hold our favorite cooking oils and I love it!

However you choose to adorn your home–don’t forget about the endless details.

It’s amazing what happens when an object with such an ordinary purpose can be so special. I choose to put such emphasis on these pieces in our home because they bring such a purpose to curating a life well lived. A life in which objects are not only useful, but beloved and appreciated for their unique craftsmanship and beauty is so important to me.

Below are a few pieces that I’ve collected recently, or that I’ve got my eyes on! Ever now, it is so important to live with purpose and to find joy even in the most simple–which for me means curating a life well-lived with pieces I’ll love forever.
