Goings On 11/01

This week’s jottings, notes and snaps.

Coming back from a month hiatus on social and the blog has me inspired! I missed sharing, while at the same time–it didn’t feel intuitive.

Alas, here I am with a few updates from this past week(s). Most notably, we had both family and friends in town all through October which was such a gas. I adore spending time, hosting and touring our out-of-town friends/fam around California.

We took them to wine country, stayed in a beautiful home in Sonoma, toured around St. Helena (found some amazing home shops that I now will visit every time) and discovered a few new wineries I’m excited about.

We did an amazing tasting at Scribe–their food is always spectacular but this was unparalleled–we had the most delish fried chicken I’ve ever had.

I stopped into Napa Valley Vintage Home on our way out of town and it did not disappoint. If you’re in the area and are looking for a gem of a home store (their holiday section is amaze) definitely check them out!

We ended up eyeing our wedding flatware collection and I couldn’t resist getting a couple of small bowls because I adore them so much.

I also fell in love with this brand that they carry and purchased a couple of new placemats!

They also had a Trudon trove so you know I spent a good 20 minutes smelling candles. I am obsessed with the Moroccan Mint and Rose–those will be my next two splurges.

Something about being up in wine country always reinvigorates my love for local, seasonal California food. I always come away inspired to get into the kitchen! I’m dying to recreate Scribe’s mushroom and veg toast–it was to.die.for!

Another gem was dinner at The Charter Oak. Jackson and I had been their years ago for a quiet dinner which was lovely–but never before in a large group. It was honestly so much fun and the perfect group atmosphere. The food is meant to be shared and the cocktails are top notch. I ordered a stiff dirty martini and it was heavenly.
