Dreaming Up Our Dining Nook Concept
Where we’re currently at…
Our small dining nook sits just directly off of our kitchen. It’s pretty small, and dark due to there only being one window in our kitchen. It also houses our giant bookshelf that is acting as our display area for little kitchen essentials and glassware.
We’ve had our old dining table from Ikea for YEARS now and I’m so ready for an upgrade. It was fine while it lasted, but a dining table is really something worth investing in for so many reasons.
I’ve had my eye on this dining table for a while now, and finally we ordered it a few months ago! I’m so excited for it to arrive, it's slightly smaller than our current table, and is more of a “bistro” vibe. Ultimately, we needed a smaller table–we don’t need the extra space that our larger table provides, and it definitely makes the space feel smaller. This new table will open up the space a bit for sure. I’m also swapping out our chairs for organic-modern inspired stools! I can’t wait for them to arrive hopefully early next year.
One day when we move to a larger home, I’m hoping to use our new dining table as potentially a floating entryway table - or even an accent table in a corner. Even as I’m purchasing pieces now–I always have a secondary use case for them, knowing not only that they’re investments but also we aren’t in our forever-home yet!
