Notes of Mid-Summer

As we begin to hit mid month, and the height of summer, I thought it time to celebrate a few things that have been bringing me immense joy lately.

While this summer is so much different than those past, I think it’s important to honor the smaller moments–as they’re so significant now. Celebrating and honoring the small, beautiful moments is a loving hobby of mine–and it has brought me so much solace during unpredictable times.

First up, we rearranged our living room. Our sofa now sits in the bay window–which I swore I’d never do! It’s a slight change, and I honestly thought we’d change it right back but its really grown to my liking. I love that it opens the room up, and allows us to have more of a conversational layout where the TV is secondary.

It’s crazy how something so familiar–as your living room–can change slightly and make such a difference. We didn’t add anything new, just remixed what we currently have and it feels like a whole new space.

I am obsessed with this marble bowl. I’ve been waiting and waiting for it to come back in stock–and when it finally did I jumped! It adds such a sculptural element to our coffee table which I love.

Apart from spending copious amounts of time in the newly arranged living room, I’ve also been loving sitting out in our (tiny and shared) backyard. There is something so lovely about taking my morning juice or coffee out there for a breath of fresh air. Its the simplest little ritual but it really makes a huge difference on my mood. Soaking in even just a few minutes of sunshine each day is such a game changer. One of my favorite things to do is take a chilled bottle of vino and bask in the afternoon sun for a while–highly recommend. Alfresco is just better.

How cute is this outdoor pitcher and glasses? Perfect for summer (and year around).

This blanket is one of my all time faves–we bring it on every picnic and outdoor excursion!

Admittedly, I haven’t been doing as much cooking these past few weeks as I would have liked. It’s a long story–but I’ve just been feeling demotivated and honestly didn’t want to be in the kitchen. However–this past week I’ve been getting a bit of a groove back. One thing that inspired me was this olive oil. I LOVE Flamingo Estate’s candles, but when I scored their olive oil I was smitten. The branding is so cute and looks so special on our kitchen counter.

Also on the culinary note, I found this book and it immediately got the inspiration wheels turning.

Outdoor dining is alllll the rage now so our friends are putting together an outdoor wine tasting in a few weeks which I’m so excited for. I’m using this as major inspiration! Pinterest has been such a source of endless visual stimulation for me lately. I feel like I can get lost in it for hours on end some days.

I hope this brings you a little joy to celebrate the small moments in your own life. Happy mid-summer!
