Intentions | 06.14

Hello! What a few weeks it has been. I feel like it’s been quite an emotional roller coaster. I’ve felt incredibly, sad, awakened, scared and overwhelmed. Personally, my mind and body are craving a reset, rest, and a little extra care.

Usually when I’m feeling a little rundown its because we’ve been grinding the gears a bit too hard. With all that is going on in the world, the stresses so easily add up in a multitude of ways. It can sometimes take a minute before you realize how everything is affecting you personally. So this week I’m setting a few good intentions to help get myself back in a good rhythm. I’m focusing on three categories–personal, nourish, and educate–all of which are super critical right now.

Personal

These past two weeks have also been our birthdays…which has definitely led to far too much sugar (per usual) and copious amounts of vino (also per usual) so I’m definitely setting the reset button starting this week. I’ll be following my guide to A Top Notch Week (With No Restrictions).

I love Melissa Wood Health (whose healthy week inspired the post above!) so I’ll be trying to do one of her meditations everyday along with a flow or two this week.

Nourish

I’ve also got a few BOMB recipes in the queue to share out this week. I’ve been testing a fish taco recipe and I think we’ve finally nailed it! I’ve also been really into sides and dips recently, especially those that are Greek-inspired so look out for a few of those!

Educate

I’m reading two books right now–The Bluest Eye, and So You Want To Talk About Race–and wow have my eyes been opened. These are two that I’m starting my BLM education with and both are incredibly moving–I highly recommend!

I know we’re all going through this time in our own way. There is absolutely NO right way to go about taking care of yourself and doing things for you right now. We need to offer ourselves (and our neighbors) grace at this time most of all.

♥︎ Have a lovely week, friends!
