Sunday Swoon No. 7

the universe took its time on you
crafted you to offer the world
something different from everyone else
when you doubt
how you were created
you doubt an energy greater than us both

I love this poem. Inspiration is such a source that is greater than anything we can even fathom. It creates an energy that fuels us. On Sundays in particular, I find myself hungry for motivation to start the week ahead. This note is such a lovely reminder to cherish and honor the greater energies beyond ourselves.

After a week of “vacation” here at home, I feel slightly more centered and calm. I turned off Instagram for the week, and tried to immerse myself in a few books, magazines and online publications. I went down a little inspiration hole and rediscovered Tumblr, which I haven’t used since I started blogging back in 2010. I forgot how wonderful the rabbit holes of Tumblr can be! I stumbled upon this wonderful account, which is curated so beautifully its definitely worth a scroll!

Life & Style, Home

I recently discovered Diani. They have a store in Santa Barbara which we visited last summer, however I just rediscovered their online shop. Their home goods are on point right now! Such cute little objects to bring joy to any surface or corner of your home. I’ve got my eye on these candles.

Speaking of candles, Vogue recently published this great article on how to make them last longer.

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon Solika and bought this dress. Its super comfortable and I’m excited to wear it durning WFH.

How cute is this puzzle from Jayson Home!? I love it! Once completely put together, I wouldn’t mind leaving it out for a few extra days ;)

In fact, I love all of Jayson Home’s accessories–they’re stunning!

Food & recipes

Okay so I think its safe to say I’ve been craving (and indulging) in allllll the comfort foods right now. So, it was perfectly fitting that I just discovered this New York classic recipe while stalking Alison Roman the other day. Its basically a cheese burger–but also kind of a sandwich?? Either way…we’ll be giving it a try this week.

This past weekend Jackson and I made the most BOMB pasta recipe. It’s super simple, and has left me daydreaming about it ever since. Needless to say, I’ll never not use anchovies in a pasta recipe again…they’re life changing.

On the lighter side, I’ll be giving this kale caesar with roasted chickpeas recipe a try.

I love this fun take on an aperol spritz…it definitely will make an appearance this week for happy hour!

I think I’ll give this brunch a try next weekend…it looks so calming and peaceful. There is such splendor from simple, fresh recipes made with wholesome ingredients.

Have a lovely, safe, and happy week!
