Next time I really want to bring along my camera. This walk got me inspired to shoot a “San Francisco” series of photographs–just special moments captured in and around the city of everyday life.

Happy Sunday!

Switching things up around here today a bit with a weekend update! Usually on Sundays I’ll post a swoon but this weekend just felt too special not to document.

My weekend kicks off with a gals happy hour via Facetime on Friday evenings. Its something that I look forward to every week–and has turned into a little ritual for us. Each Friday I like to try a new cocktail recipe–my go-to for a few weeks has been this margarita but this week I made a few light tweaks. (Didn’t have grapefruit so only did limes and added a splash of citrus seltzer for a hint of bubble).

Saturday I took a loooong walk around our neighborhood, up to Russian Hill, and back down through Pac Heights. It was some much needed solo cardio time.

After my giant urban hike I meandered home to get some work done. After a few hours I was craving some more outdoor time as the sun was still shining (a rarity here in SF sometimes in the afternoons!)

So we packed up a few goodies and headed up to our roof to try out our new lawn chairs. I got these for Jackson as an early birthday present and we LOVE them! I’m working on a post about cute outdoor pieces for summer which I’m super excited about!

I’ve been seriously CRAVING pasta lately. I don’t know what it is or why–but its been the only thing I want to eat. So on Saturday afternoon I made a slow-cooked ragu sauce completely from scratch. And let me just say…it was SO GOOD. I didn’t really follow a recipe, just sort of winged it. I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted it to be and kind of just followed my gut. I’m going to try and recreate it this week and jot the recipe down because its too good not to share. Needless to say, Saturday evening was spent in a ragu-induced coma. But it was so incredibly worth it.

This pasta was one of the best I’ve ever made–I can’t wait to recreate it and share the recipe soon! Its comforting, a little spicy and oh-so-delicious. Pair it with a good red wine and you’ve got the perfect weekend meal.

Today our market order arrived for the week and I’m so excited to cook a few spring-time recipes. First on my list will be a sheet-pan salmon with springtime veggies. I’m so excited! The rest of Sunday will be spent relaxing, doing a few blog updates, and hopefully getting outdoors again. I’ll be cranking up some Frank Sinatra later this evening, taking a bath, and giving myself a little me time.

How beautiful are these springtime eggs!? They’re from a local farm up in Sonoma that sells dairy and produce through Good Eggs. I can’t wait to turn these into a spring frittata this week.
