Vintage Crystal Collecting
Cut crystal is everything. I remember developing an early love for it when my mom first introduced me to our crystal cut family heirlooms. A rather eclectic assortment, I quickly identified my favorite piece–a large vase that was so beautifully detailed. Now that vase currently lives under lock and key with my mother–however that hasn’t stopped me from curating a small collection of my own crystal pieces.
I recently found a few great pieces over on Etsy. My love for Etsy goes so deep I can’t even put it into words!
What I love about cut crystal is that its such a beautiful little moment of adornment. Even the smallest piece can add a sense of sparkle to any corner. One of my favorite finds recently was a few crystal ashtrays…which I talked in depth about on instagram a few weeks back. Instead of using them as ashtrays, I’m repurposing them to hold wine bottles on our marble coffee table. I’m always in need of a good wine bottle trivet and want (dearly) to protect the marble of our coffee table from red wine rings, so this was the perfect find.
A few other pieces I’m coveting lately are crystal candle holders and small trays/bowls/glasses.
There is something so special about how light casts across crystal. It creates such a unique and beautiful ray of sunshine that is unlike any other. Maybe is disco-ball like. Whatever it is, I’m obsessed.
I can’t wait to share more finds!
