Daily Citrus Cocktail

Looks like a margarita–but it’s really a citrus burst of hydration that I crave daily.

This recipe really reminds me of lemonade that I used to drink as a kid. I’m an avid lemonade fan–however I hate all the sugar that tends to come with it. So I created my own rendition of “lemonade” with a few other superstar ingredients for a little “hydration kick” during the day. Citrus has amazing vitamin properties–my favorite of which helps fight inflammation in the body.

Ingredients
4-6 cups water, chilled
juice of 2 lemons
juice of 3 limes
1 tsp fresh ginger, muddled
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp sea salt
2 cups ice (if desired)
optional: sprig of fresh mint, chilled dandelion tea (sup half the water for tea if doing so)

Combine all ingredients together in a large pitcher. I like to muddle my ginger in the base of the pitcher first–so that its aroma coats the inside before any other ingredients go in.

Serve immediately or store in the fridge for the day. I don’t like keeping it overnight as the citrus tends to get super bitter the longer it sits!
