The Basil Spritz

I’ve always craved a refreshing, simple spritz. Even when it’s not super warm out, I just gravitate towards a refreshing herby bev. This is my take on a simple alternative to an aperol spritz!

And before we get into it–I’m not going to give you exact measurements. Everyone likes a little more of something, or a little less of something else. This recipe is meant to inspire you and to give you a list of ingredients that go super well together–so that you can tailor to your exact preferences. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Small hand full of fresh basil
Juice of a lime
Your favorite sparking wine or champagne
Seltzer water (can be flavored if you want)

To a large wine glass add ice to the top. Add your basil leaves, give them a little tear but don’t chop! We just want to release their flavor. Add the lime juice. Fill with sparking wine and then top with seltzer. Garnish with extra lime wedges and basil leaves.

Enjoy!
