Summering With Just Enough Wines
With summer in the air, I’m all about the outdoor life. As each day grows longer and warmer, I’m spending time creating my favorite summer meals whilst sipping all the best warm-weather wines. There is just something so wonderful about basking in the warm sunshine with a perfect glass of rosé in hand.
Summer pairings are all about freshness to me. I love a colorful summer salad paired with a crisp rosé or dry white. The summer months are also about opening up, letting newness in, and making new traditions. In the name of newness, I thought I’d share a favorite new discovery that is quickly filling up our wine fridge!
As with most of my favorite new finds these days, I discovered Just Enough Wines on Instagram. I was immediately drawn to their mission of sustainability and zero waste. I’m in a phase of life that is all about pairing down, finding fewer (better) things, and living a cleaner, more thoughtful lifestyle. Just Enough Wines is a female-founded wine company right here in my home city of San Francisco. I love discovering local companies whose mission is one that is thoughtful and impactful for our world today. One thing that I really love is that the grapes come from premium vineyards–making great wine that much more accessible to enjoy.
Now, I’ve tried my fair share of canned rosé, and let me just lead in by saying – I can’t believe this wine came from a can. If you’re looking for a perfectly balanced rosé that is super drinkable, this rosé is the one. It’s so smooth and has zero bite. This is the perfect rosé for a summer picnic with friends–or even an al fresco dinner with a bright citrus salad. I have a few summer parties on the agenda in the next few weeks and I’ll definitely be bringing their rosé for everyone to try.
With notes of summer melon and vibrant berries–this rosé became an instant favorite in our house.
Also, the fact that this delicious wine is canned makes transporting it all that much easier! I can’t wait to pack a few for afternoons in the park or boating on the lake later this summer.
One of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday is in our backyard, with a plush blanket, great wine, and a delicious cheeseboard.
My Cheese Board
Marcona almonds
Sharp cheddar and/or creamy goat cheese
French bread or crackers
Apples, sliced
Seasonal fruits (peaches, pears, apricots or berries)
Honey for drizzling
Dates
You can never go wrong with a nice cheese, an ice-cold glass of wine, and a little sunshine. I love grabbing a few fresh flowers to set the scene and add a bit of color–plus they smell amazing!
