Concept | June '20
June is a special month around here.
For a few reasons, this is a month of celebration for us. We have two (!) birthdays–both mine and Jacksons that are a whopping 9 days apart so we spend a good portion of this month doing special things for one another. Last year, we took a couple trips for each of our birthdays which was incredibly special. Our trip down to Santa Barbara was one that I’ll never forget!
However this year things are (obviously) looking a little different, so we won’t be traveling or doing anything super social, but we still have some special ideas in the works which I’m super excited about. It’s safe to say that we’ll be pulling out the big guns in terms of specialties–the good wine, extravagant candles, and special meals. For Jackson’s birthday we’re going after an Italian al fresco theme… making homemade pizzas and specialty cocktails. I caved a little early and gave (us) two new lawn chairs for park hangs and rooftop sits, so we’ll definitely be busting those out as well. I can’t wait!
Other things that I’m excited about this month…
Looking forward to spending Father’s Day with my dad and grandpa from a distance.
We ordered new bedding from Parachute, so I’m super excited for it to arrive! (Our bed has been sooo uncomfortable for way too long so this is big!)
Picnics during the workday…last week I wandered out for a midday walk and stumbled upon a few folks having a picnic over their lunch hour–it look so lovely and feels like the perfect break in the middle of the day.
I’m (very slowly) getting more comfortable in our “new normal” but I’ve recently been feeling so inspired by late afternoon hikes through the Presidio (wearing a mask of course).
More home content! I filmed some videos today for a special project that I can’t wait to share soon!
Spring cooking–hello I mean summer cooking–can’t wait to get back to the farmers market for weekly fresh herbs, veggies and baked goods. I’m dying to make a grilled veggie toast that I've been dreaming up for weeks now.
