Olive Branches Everywhere

For a little while now, I’ve been contemplating adding an olive tree to our living room.

I’ve never had an olive tree–neither indoors or outdoors. They’re beautiful, but I don’t know the first thing about caring for them. However that hasn’t stopped me from scouring the Pinterest boards for endless inspiration of interior olive trees in all their light, airy, and ephemeral beauty.

As a small start, I’ve also started adding large branches of olive trees to our home to see how they feel. The lighter color of green will be a little different–but I think it’ll be a nice shift. I love the drama that our Birds of Paradise brings–however it’s starting to take over the entire far corner of our living room.

I love a good olive tree. I love them outdoors–but lately I’ve been dying for them indoors even more. There is something about bringing an olive tree inside that almost makes it “come alive” or shine more. Is that possible? Maybe its the contrast against the softness of the interior versus the camouflage of the outdoors. Either way, I’m excited to find the perfect little tree for our home sometime in the early new year!
