Fall Weekend in Healdsburg

This past weekend we took a lovely trip up to Healdsburg for some much-needed family time, wine tasting, and delicious food. Here are a few details!

Where We Stayed

We wanted to rent a home up in Healdsburg as we were staying there for 4 nights–which was such a great decision! Since we brought Millie with us, we wanted a space that would be dog-friendly and have a great outdoor space for optimum wine sips at sunset. We found this great property and it was amazing! I loved getting to swim and walk through their gardens each day. Added bonus–this property has a huge garden with all the veggies and herbs you could imagine, and the owner is so sweet and lets you pick anything you want. I made a delicious pesto with their fresh basil and a crazy spicy salsa with their vine tomatoes and peppers.

Where We Tasted

I was in charge of booking our itinerary for two full days of wine tasting so here are all the deets!

Flowers Winery
Stunning property and nice for group tastings. I love their Pinot and Chardonnay–they make a great crisp chard which is always my preference. The vibe of the property is also immaculate–it doesn’t feel too corporate, and the grounds are so relaxing and remind me of an Italian countryside villa.

Dry Creek Winery
This one was a first for me! I loved that we could sit outside at a picnic-style table and bring our own lunch. We stopped at
Dry Creek General for the most aaaamazing sandos on the way. Pro tip-arrive in plenty of time if you’re ordering food, the line gets quite long!

Cast Wines
Another first for me but we loved it! Great views and their rosé is so delish. We got to try their new pet nat which Jackson loved–it’s the perfect afternoon weekend wine.

Chateau St Jean
LOVED this one–ok the vibe is a tinge stuffy but the grounds are too stunning to pass up. It definitely feels like you’re walking around a chateau in the South of France. I was delighted by their Pinot Blac….delicious and so refreshing. They coined this as a “porch pounder” – just need to find myself a house with a beautiful porch now!

Kunde
One of my favorite reds is their Red Dirt Red–we discovered it years ago on our first trip up to Kenwood back in 2018 and ever since it’s become a staple in our wine cabinet.

Little Vineyards
I love this spot for a large group. They have bocce ball courts and it’s super fun to do a flight of tastings and play out in the sunshine!

Scribe
We rounded out the end of our trip with a tasting at the Hacienda. It was pure magic (as always). We got to try their new Mission red–it instantly became a favorite and we nabbed a couple of bottles for home! I love wandering their amazing property–it just gives me life.

Daily Adventures

Our home was not far from the main town square, just a short drive or so–which made it easy to venture in for dinner, coffee and shopping.

We picked up delicious pastries from this little bakery–they were so good! Definitely go early on the weekends as it’s a super popular spot and things sell out!

The Healdsburg square has so many little gems–I love stopping for wine tasting at Banshee, and then doing a little shopping at all the nearby shops. I love popping into this little kitchen shop–love their big mixing bowls and cutting boards!

I was over the moon about having a property with a garden! Each morning I wandered through it with my coffee and snipped a few herbs, flowers and persimmons! This makes me so excited to one day have a little garden of my own.

Chateau St. Jean was simply STUNNING. I loved wandering the grounds–I felt like I was slipping in to a dream in the South of France. Truly such a special place to visit.

Scribe will always hold a special place in my heart. Since we became members back in 2017–it has been the one winery that we are never disappointed by.
